Caring for Vulnerable Residents & Communities
Free and charitable clinics provide integrated care to uninsured and underinsured patients, including medical, dental, pharmacy, behavioral health, vision, and social determinants of health services. They serve as efficient and high-quality medical homes constituting an essential statewide safety net of care for Virginia's underserved.
Playing an Important Role in Preventative Care
Good health is the foundation for stable employment, education, and maintaining social connections that support positive mental health. Virginia's clinics provide accessible, comprehensive, and quality preventative care as well as chronic care. This helps uninsured individuals remain healthy while also reducing unnecessary visits to the emergency room and avoidable hospital readmissions.
