Virginia Free Clinics By The Numbers
Playing an important role in providing comprehensive health care for those who would otherwise go without.

IN THE LAST YEAR, OUR MEMBER CLINICS REPORTED:
• 75,000 Virginians were treated regardless of their ability to pay• 246,000+ patient visits
• 363,000+ prescriptions filled
• 5,800+ licensed healthcare professional and lay volunteers donated their time
Across the Commonwealth clinics were able to provide more than $114 million worth of care to those most in need. Throughout 2022, clinics continued to experience an increase in patient demand and expanded services accordingly, most notably in mental health services offered. That level of care provided wouldn't be possible without the numerous ways communities support clinics – through partnerships forged, volunteers' time and expertise, and the generosity of donors.
The ending of the federal public health emergency and unwinding of Medicaid over the next year will display the increased need for the continued support of the safety net across Virginia for families and individuals most in need in our communities.
