The ideal candidate is a bachelor’s level social worker or an equivalent human services background. Knowledge of current issues affecting the HIV+ community and Ryan White Part B program guidelines are a plus.
Transgender Health Services Coordinator - Richmond, VA
Health Brigade, formerly Fan Free Clinic, is seeking a full time Trans Health Services Coordinator (THSC) to work in an integrated health care setting. The THSC is responsible for biopsychosocial assessments, care planning and ongoing health related case management for transgender patients seeking hormone treatment and other services at Health Brigade. The THSC will be expected to work as part of an interdisciplinary team and effectively supervise interns and volunteers. The THSC is also responsible for internal and external LGBTQ+ sensitivity/competency trainings, and advocating for transgender clients. The ideal candidate is a master level social worker or an equivalent human services background and competent in current issues affecting the transgender community. An understanding of informed consent, best practices, medical transition, and HIPAA guidelines are required. The THSC participates in community health outreach and represents the agency at various events.
