Membership Growth Continues
Membership in the VAFCC is reaching all time highs.
A year of historic growth continues as the VAFCC welcomes Purpose Medical Outreach and Roanoke Valley Speech and Hearing Center as associate members to the association.
Founded in 2022 to provide professional and compassionate whole-person healthcare to the low-income and uninsured individuals, Purpose Medical Outreach (PMO) is excited to hit the ground rolling. Featuring a brick-and-mortar clinic located in New Kent, PMO also operates a mobile unit that provides basic medical services as well as care for chronic conditions and some acute care needs in Charles City, King William, and West Point. In addition to the mobile unit, PMO provides telemedicine for patients. 
When asked why they joined the VAFCC, clinic leadership shared, “We felt a membership with VAFCC offers credibility to our clinic, especially as we ourselves get established in our community and state as a reputable, trustworthy organization.” PMO Healthcare Director Cara Hoover also shared that they are “looking forward to learning, growing, and connecting with other free clinics around the state under a shared goal of serving those in our communities who are without access to healthcare and other basic needs.” For over 60 years, The Roanoke Valley Speech and Hearing Center (RVSHC) has been helping people of all
ages develop their communication skills so they can better relate to the world around them. It serves all patients with hearing loss, language disorders, speech pathology needs, and vestibular disorders regardless of their insurance status. “We have been around for 64 years and are always working to grow and learn how to better serve our community,” said LeeAnn Linkenhoker, Executive Director of RVSHC. “I'm looking forward to networking at conferences and keeping up via monthly newsletters on what everyone is up to. I strongly believe that together, we learn from each other and solve some of the bigger problems facing our communities.”
Both of these clinics join into an association of more than 65 free and charitable clinics across the state. Founded in 1993 and headquartered in Richmond, the VAFCC is celebrating 30 years of serving as an effective advocate for the issues and concerns of free and charitable clinics, their volunteer workforce, and the vulnerable patients served by free and charitable clinics throughout the Commonwealth.
