We are looking for more than a few good men and women. Do you have a passion for actually making a difference in the daily lives of people in need? That's what our volunteers do. They change lives by touching those lives in a Free Clinic. Few opportunities exist that are more rewarding. And if you talk to our volunteers, you will find people who are addicted

image Help Us Make A Difference

We couldn’t provide the level of care we do without the incredible support of volunteers. In 2005, more than 9,200 Virginians volunteered at a Free Clinic. These included:

  • 2,399 physicians
  • 1,158 nurses
  • 160 nurse practitioners
  • 44 physician assistants
  • 536 dentists
  • 184 dental hygienists
  • 135 dental assistants
  • 242 pharmacists
  • 232 pharmacy technicians
  • 88 mental health counselors
  • 581 other health professionals
  • 3,409 non-clinical volunteers

Many of our volunteers have been doing it for years. They enjoy helping others and give their time to help make a difference. As you see by the numbers above, many people who are not health care professionals are volunteering their time to help with a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. That means if you’ve got some time to share, we’ll put you to work!
